Odyssey G2 in RV-10
I had my autopilot configured and working with exception of altitude hold. I changed something but cannot seem to find my way back! (pun intended). I get an error "GPS based AHRS cannot be used for AP" First question, why not? Second question is what should I set in the extensive menu system to get the most functionality out of my autopilot? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Re: autopilot
In the 3D setup menu to have selected to use the GPS to simulate an AHRS based on your flight path in three dimensions. The GPS produces 3D fixes at a high rate making this possible. However this cannot be used to fly an autopilot with as the autopilot requires actual attitude of the aircraft in particular changes in attitude and these measurements must be real.

Re: autopilot
Armed with my new knowledge I flew again today. I tried everything in the menu to disassociate GPS from the autopilot and failed. Somewhere in the depths of the extensive menu is something not set right. I need some real guidance in setting up the autopilot, from the beginning. Somebody out there has conquered the autopilot and I need your help!
Re: autopilot
The two options in your 3D setup menu (just press "menu" and then 3D setup menu) or if older EFIS with keypad press menu button twice and then select 3D setup menu.
'Never use GPS Flight path display'
'Use GPS Flight Path, do not use AHRS'
These are the two options - please select the first one or else you switch the AHRS off and the AP is going to complain.

Re: autopilot
Thank you Rainier! I needed to be led by the hand! Did as you suggested and my autopilot is acting nice again.
