Here is the wiring diagram for the connector:

Of the 8 pins/wires only 5 are actually used. The pinout is as follows:
1- 12v
2- 12V
3- Ground
4- Ground
5- Enable (gets wired to 12V from Ribbon)
6- PWM Dimming
7- Resistor for Dimming (not used)
8- Alarm (not used)
