Re: Using iEfis Lite as GPS source for Trig TT22

Although I can't answer your question, I wanted to say that my understanding is that Discovery Lite GPS as a source is not precise enough for ADSB (there is a SIL incompatibility). I had to additionally install MGL SP-12 as a source (and it's not available generally, I only found it in New Zealand) ...

shielding for RF interference

My little homebuilt helicopter's airframe is steel, but the cabin is fiberglass. I have my MGL v16 radio installed and it works well, but i want to see if I can improve the sound quality even more. I was researching a bit on how to minimize electro magnetic interference. in the aircraft. Read the v1...

Re: Explorer Lite artificial horizon wandering

I ended up installing MGL SP-9 AHRS and very happy with how it works with my Discovery Lite.

Re: Explorer Lite artificial horizon wandering

I saw in the Discovery Lite manual a suggestion to "reset AHRS gyro bias" every year:
https://www.mglavionics.co.za/Docs/iEFI ... manual.pdf

Maintenance items
Every year:
Perform “Zero ASI” procedure.
Perform Gyro bias zero procedure.

Perhaps this might help?

Re: SP-9 Calibration

I think I figured what the issue is: I noticed that the little electronics PCB circuit board is sliding a little bit back and forth within the unit housing. I undid the two self tapping screws on the front of the unit and noticed that there is a little felt pad attached to the back wall of the housi...

Re: Discovery Lite crash looping

I've disconnect the wiring harness that I got from the kit manufacturer (RotorWay) that connected all the CAN bus devices and fabricated my own CAN Bus using n Carlisle Can24Tst120 Can Bus Cable. I terminated the shields to the ground with the shields connected on one end only (similar to MGL V16 ra...

Re: SP-12 GPS

I found that Stuart Parker, an MGL dealer in New Zealand has a few of these units in stock and bought one from him - he sent it to me in the US. I installed it and my ADSB PAPR report came with no discrepancies. If anyone needs this unit, Stuart might have one or two.

SP-9 Calibration

I just installed SP-9 AHRS in my little RotorWay helicopter. I put it on velcro underneath the seat on a fairly rigid 0.050" thickness shelf (I could potentially beef the shelf up by adding additional metal). I also have SP-6 compass mounted in front and Discovery Lite EFIS. Generally the system wor...

Discovery Lite crash looping

Hi, I have a Discovery Lite and Trig TT22 Remote transponder with MGL Trig interface connector that connects the TT22 to the EFIS via the CAN bus. I have SP-6 Compass, TT22, RDAC Device and Discovery on the same CAN Bus. It all was working fine for a while (over a year and 70 hours), but recently th...
