Odyssey/Voyager G2 beta
This release of the Odyssey binary is intended for beta test
This software has not been thoroughly tested
and functions may not operate as expected. Please do not install this
software in applications where any form of failure or incorrect operation
would lead to compromise of flight safety in any way.
Note: The beta release available below
has not been test flown to verify all aspects of operation during
Odyssey2.bin binary for beta
G2 Beta 4 for release A
"Beta 4" fixes waypoint search, airspace look ahead text,
left over lines on map when switching between vector and raster with no
raster maps installed.
"Beta 3" adds "yellow" status for alarm status fields. This
Beta adds support for new NEO-6 GPS module which is being phased into
production now. This is to support new, redesigned hardware contained in
the rear panel module. The software related to GPS initialization has been
extensively rewritten to handle both "old" and "new" GPS modules.
"Beta 2" fixes: Reverse route, track line north up, GPX
route import, vector map writing, time rings
Port of current iEFIS new functionality to Odyssey/Voyager
New mapping engine.
New route functionality including edit of
New map symbology, range rings and altitude intercept
Note: The installer now installes as default to C:\MGL
Avionics\iEFIS Tools\Odyssey SIM.
The roaming data folder or program
files folder is no longer used. The EFIS data files you will now find in
C:\MGL Avionics\iEFIS Tools\Odyssey SIM\EFISDisk.
This has been done to
avoid compatibility issues with various flavours of the Windows Operating
system and is compatible with the way the iEFIS now works as well.
This update no longer uses
the internal RAM drive. All of the items that where used with the RAM
drive have been moved to the internal SSD drive which is identical to
the format used by iEFIS. There are four new folders on this drive:
Checks, FPlan, Plates and Logs.
Please backup the following files from your RAM drive before
installing the new software:
a) Any route files you may still need
b) Any checklist files you may be using (*.ecl
c) The flight log (the flight folio). This file is called
FLTLOG.DAT. You may want to copy this to the new FPlan folder that holds
this file from now on.
Sample Flight screen that uses
new Airspace vertical look ahead component (Flight8.EFM).
