Odyssey application 1.0.2.6 - 20 March 2011. Simulator and Binary This is the first release to officially support Navidata created by Jeppesen JSUM download (Navidata file is created by Jeppesen based on subscription). Fixed: SD cards formated with FAT32 could not be used in the system. This has now been fixed. It is however recommended that FAT (or FAT16) be used for SD cards that are used for flight data recording as this allows slightly faster disk operation. Amended: VPX interface mainly with respect to flap and trim functionality, also changed ECB current component to start at "1" rather than "0", similar to other ECB components. Please amend your screen designs accordingly if required. Improved: Autopilot pitch control in conditions where internal GPS cannot be used and static pressure is used as backup. Also, if external GPS feed is used (such as from G430 or NMEA), internal GPS will still be used for autopilot vertical guidance whenever possible. Added support for SL40 radio as VHF 2 Added secondary algorithm to assist AP to track altitude to tighter limits in calm conditions Added black box flight data recorder feed (messages 1,2 and 3 supported at this stage) Odyssey application 1.0.2.5 - 20 March 2011. Simulator and Binary Fixed bug related to airspaces containing large number of polygon points. This can lead to a serious system lockup. This has been introduced in version 1.0.2.4 due to some changes around airspace data processing. If you have upgraded to 1.0.2.4 please change to 1.0.2.5 even if your system does not appear to be affected. Added support for up to 8000 active airspaces within a 10x10 degree area around aircraft position (increased from 2000). Added support for airspaces with a large number of polygon points (previous limit was 400, now 800). Added support for V0 and V1 V speeds for airspeed tape as well as analog airspead indicator display. Odyssey application 1.0.2.4 - 11 March 2011. Simulator and Binary Added first release of autopilot yaw axis support using a third servo (MGL servo only). Updated some autopilot related interfaces to reflect failed servos etc before engage attempt. New HSI routines and much improved autopilot coupling allows for smooth changes between navigation sources without autopilot disconnect. Complete rewrite of communications interface between ARINC processor and main processor to elliminate any chance of corrupted ARINC labels from making it through. Relevant mostly for G430 based installations. Complete overhaul of internal SPI based communications links between various processors in order to increase performance and high level of data rate handling mainly in support of new CAN interface based pheriperals. Further improvements of system startup time. Typical system startup from power on now down to about 5 seconds to live display Changes to ARINC based autopilot interface (for external autopilot based on GPSS feed. Changed from relative to absolute steering. Please see this document for details on operation and setup. Please note: The changes to the ARINC AP interface are still experimental. Feedback is appreciated. Added further options to synthetic vision based heading indications. Now true or magnetic headings, major cardinal headings (NSEW) or numeric tapes, also options on font size. Select in 3D View setup. Fixed a minor issue on the NMEA RMC output sentence: The ground speed was inserted incorrectly (it is good in the RMB message). Added support for Ground proximity warning and flap position over speed warning. See this document for details. New sound files to support ground proximity and flap overspeed warnings to be found here. Ability to import a setupody.dat file into a real EFIS (Note the file must have been exported by a system that has the same software version number). Moved sound file install into "Installation tasks" menu. System is now able to support "Whole World" single Navidata file (as available soon through Jeppesen subscription). Minor work on XRX interface to improve resynchronizing communications (The XRX protocol has no means of synchonizing a message start making this a little tricky). ILS from SL30 was showing wrong direction. Fixed. Simulator: Added ability to use any folder or disk as "SD card". The target "SD card" is selected under the "Project" menu. This now permits use of a real SD card similar to a real EFIS if so desired. Added Radio stack component and default radio stacks to all built in screen. New Radio stack setup menu (enable radio stack items). Support for V10 radio with full remote control of radio. Note: Please set radio to Flip-Flop frequency selection and "Main+Standby" mode in the radio's setup using the radios own setup menu. The V10 radio needs to be updated to version 170111. Earlier versions of the firmware will not work. Follow this link for the V10 update software. Please note: Slave systems cannot currently set frequency of radio connected to primary system. In case of a V10, the idea is to wire each EFIS to the radio (serial ports 1 and 2) so you have a fully redundant system. Some changes to SL30/SL40 interface - EFIS now shows frequency selected on these radios (RX and TX need to be connected). Many internal changes to navigation source selection mechanisms partly prompted by radio stack functionality. Improvements to COM Extender initialization (COM extender might not initialize if plugged in after EFIS startup or EFIS startup takes longer than usual). Minor internal changes to autopilot engage. Preliminary documentation for radio stack (Text file): Follow this link. Odyssey application 1.0.2.3 - 8 December 2010. Simulator and Binary Fixed: Full Garmin 430W support re-established for G2. Some modes would not show HSI. Fixed: GPS satelite skyview (internal GPS). Changed: HSI now fixed needle colour scheme: Magenta for GPS, Green for VOR, Light Blue for ILS. Added: In case external GPS is selected for use (NMEA or ARINC), internal GPS will be used if no external GPS data received (Automatic GPS backup for external GPS systems). Regardless of GPS source, internal GPS source will now remain active for all advanced functions including use of 3D velocity for internal autopilot as well as using GPS based artificial horizon (GPS Flightpath). Internal/External GPS status messages added to System Status IMS function (SHIFT + IMS, button 6). Fixed: Full Garmin 430W support re-established for G2. Please note: As of release 1.0.2.1 VPX Gen 1 is no longer supported and will not work, you must upgrade your VPX Gen 1 to Gen 2 (This update is free. Contact Vertical Power for details on how to do this). All VPX configuration via the EFIS has been removed, the VPX script editor and scripts have no more use or function. The VPX systems are now configured through a Vertical Power utility that runs on a PC or Laptop. Fixed a timing issue related to ARINC that was introduced with the recent 1.0.2.0 upgrade. Odyssey application 1.0.2.2 - 7 December 2010. Simulator and Binary Fixed: Automatic install of raster maps (install menu) Added: "Terrain aware glide range circle". This superimposes a circular range circle on a 2D map display (Vector map or Raster map) based on current glide or climb angle and terrain intersection. This function uses GPS, TAS, altitude, vertical speeds and installed terrain data to trace terrain impact points around the aircrafts position based on current glide ot climb angle. Operation of this new feature can be selected in the Map menu to show only below specific glide ratios or to show even if climbing. The system will attempt to use data from the GPS as primary choice but will fall back to other data sources if required. The glide circle is shown using a thick, semi-transparent ring that alternates between a dark to a lighter gray color. Given terrain and provided your glide or climb slope remains constant with respect to the terrain, your aircraft can reach any point within the indicated circle. This function assumes that wind is equal to the current effect experienced on the current track regardless of direction so the circle will expand or contract as you change heading in the presence of significant wind. The system is designed to trace for intersection points up to a radius of 55 nautical miles from the aircrafts current position. This function can be of significant assistance in the event of an engine failure at altitude and it is encouraged to practise simulated engine failures using this feature as guide. Odyssey application 1.0.2.1 - 2nd November 2010. Simulator and Binary Added support for VPX Generation 2 systems. Please note: As of this release VPX Gen 1 is no longer supported and will not work, you must upgrade your VPX Gen 1 to Gen 2 (This update is free. Changed copilot mode speed readouts to always read full speeds and prefix the word "speed" if another message was injected before.. C 1.0.2.0 - 19 November 2010 14th release update. Simulator and Binary Ported code to new version of compiler resuling in update of minor revision number. Updated autopilot with final support for MGL servos on CAN bus. Removed previous support for MGL servos from COM extender. COM extender now only used for Trio and PWM servos, MGL servos use only CAN bus if installed on Odyssey or Voyager. Relevant MGL servo setup functions are in updated autopilot manual. Implementation of support for Jeppesen Navdata converted to Navidata format via Jeppesens JSUM data delivery system - ready to go live. Added: Vertical domain AHRS (future refinement still required for full attitude support in the vertical domain). Activates at pitch angles above 45 degrees from the horizontal. Added: Support for MGL ECB (electronic circuit breaker) system. Improved: Data security against corruption during internal and external disk write under adverse conditions. 1.0.1.4 - 15 October 2010 13th release update. Simulator and Binary Added: Virtual AOA mode. Uses inputs from GPS, TAS, VSI and AHRS to calculate AOA valid for non and low banked attitudes. Calibration flight required similar to Differential AOA mode. Added: Divert mode (NAV menu). Allows temporary suspension of active nav switching to heading bug until Divert canceled or new active nav source chosen. Added: Special text items: Total fuel flow and Total fuel level based on selection in "Range and edurance setup" in "Fuel related setup". Added: Direction arrows for all waypoint selection tools, editors and viewers. Added: Live updates of direction arrows and distances in all waypoint selection tools, editors and viewers. Please note: Sort order of waypoints will be "frozen" as long as selector/editor/viewer is open to avoid order changing as you select an item. Added: ARINC Autopilot steering mode selection: Absolute and Relative. Absolute mode means that steering labels are interpreted as "left/right, up/down". Relative mode means that steering labels are interpreted as "bank left/light, pitch up/down" relative to current attitude from AHRS. Some external ARINC AP may prefer the one type over the other. This is experimental. Feedback appreciated. Added: New navigation option for HSI (select under "Setup navigation"). For GPS waypoint navigation the arrow in the HSI points to the waypoint (normal operation). The new option allows the arrow to be locked to the GPS OBS setting (this defaults to the track heading on waypoint selection but can be changed if you would like a different approach angle to the waypoint by using the GPS OBS setting). Fixed: Interactive Flight plan tool map waypoint icons where not enabled/suppressed based on declutter selections (SHIFT+5). Live Flight plan function updated: Added magnetic course/bearing to existing true course/bearing Added ability to select next waypoint in live flight plan using left/right arrow keys. Changed: Proceeding to end of route (flight plan) will not cancel route anymore, route remains active. Routes can now only be canceled by menu level 1 function. Removed "Divert" icon from Live Flight plan (Divert now part of NAV menu). Replaced: "0" button nearest airport function and related functions: If navigation setup "0 key selects airport info (active goto)" then If Waypoint active (Route not active) and waypoint is airport will show airport information for this waypoint (Search order Secondary then Primary Navidata) with option to select "nearest airports" If route is active will show Live Flightplan with option to select "nearest airports" If none of the above is true will show "nearest airports" with new selection screen. 1.0.1.3 - 01 October 2010 12th release update. Simulator and Binary Changed: Autopilot pitch servo magnitude upper limit setting from 20 to 40 Changed: New sound files (female voice) for simulator Added: Support for up to 4 MGL magnetic current sensors with a selection of 8 connecting points on two RDAC units. Added: Configuration of ranges, alarm and caution limits for all current measurement displays including current measurement from IOX shunt. Added: Detection of a GPS module hardware restart and live reconfiguration of GPS to allow continued use of GPS without a system restart being required. Added: Use of alarm output line on EFIS as transponder squat switch (linked to active flight detect, active low pull down). Added: Use any output on I/O extender as squat switch for transponder (linked to active flight detect). Requires IOX configuration script to specify output and action (requires release 3 of the IOX script file generator). Fixed: Creation of screen files based on built-in defaults for simulator (as bases for user modifications). Fixed: Simulation of Raster map install tasks in Simulator (will install raster maps if these are present in the "MMC" folder that simulates a SD card). 1.0.1.2 - 27 August 2010 eleventh release update. Simulator and Binary Changed: VOR radials and frequencies from SL30 will display regardless of NAV source as long as NAV source is not GVOR. Changed: HSI heading is now from magnetic compass heading at all times (prviously it could use GPS track corrected for variation). Changed: Low level data transfer timing between main processor and GPU. Changed: Terrain profile viewer now active regardless of flight active. Fixed: VSI History display now has correct colors. 1.0.1.1 - 18 August 2010 tenth release update. Simulator and Binary Added: Support for import of Seattle Avionics Flight Plans (FDX file format, also available with the "FreeFlight" edition). These files, when imported will be converted to standard MGL "ERT" files and stored on the RAM disk, ready for execution. Added: Flight director on slave displays now will synchronize to master display regardless of who initiated a navigation. Added: Slave EFIS, if connected to an active master EFIS will not allow autopilot engagement. Improved: Terrain rendering using shading based on "sun in the west". This enhances small changes in terrain elevation due to brightness modulation based on relative angle of terrain to light source. This is available with all terrain rendering schemes and color selections. Fixed: AGL was not working after last release. Fixed: ARINC activity menu display could freeze if no current GPS fix is available. Changed: Autopilot engagement text abreviated to use less width on display. Simulator: Added: Save and restore of current states and positions of most simulator windows. 1.0.1.0 - This is an internal release only 1.0.0.9 - 30 July 2010 Ninth release update. Simulator and Binary Aviation databases: Major update relating to aviation databases. Introduction of secondary navidata database. The system now supports a primary and a secondary navigation database. The primary database can be a subscription product, the secondary database is an open database (See document "MGL Avionics Map and aviation database installation"). Supplementary waypoint database continues to be included. Currently active navidata "regions" for both primary and secondary navidata are selectable independently in the NAV or Navigation setup menus. Full support for Jeppesen database included with this update but disabled pending finalization of testing phase. New "Direct to" goto menu, primary and secondary navidata waypoint viewers with new graphics and waypoint source identification (N = primary navidata, S=secondary navidata, W=supplementary waypoint database). New functionality: This release introduces a textual "system log". Important system events and information are logged to a viewable database which also activates a viewer automatically for important events. The viewer can be activated via the information management system (IMS function, button 6). Events (such as entering an airspace) are logged with time. This event log maintains the last 128 events and is retained during system "off" time. Autopilot: A new pitch setup function has beed added "Pitch change to VSI reaction". This has three settings "Slow, medium, fast". It is used to inform the AP of how fast (or slow) your aircraft reacts to big changes in pitch attitude to resultant changes in VSI. As a guideline - aircraft such as RV-7 will likely find "medium" a good setting. Typical GA aircraft might use "slow" while very nimble aircraft such as aerobatic aircraft would derive best performance from a "fast" setting. This setting gives the AP an idea of how long to wait after a larger pitch change before getting the desired results. This prevents possible overcontrol during the "bend-over" phase of a climb or descent. Moved System Status menu to IMS menu (Button 6), added information display for current primary and secondary navidata files. Added new item under 3D View menu (Menu level 2): 3D terrain lookahead color scheme Added new items under System Setup -> Voltage/Current setup: Main voltage, Backup voltage and Current measurement source Fixed issue related to terrain cache which could result in incorrect terrain display. Changed the way terrain caching works using background task to prepare terrain for next area in order to smooth transition to a new area. 1.0.0.8 - 1 July 2010 Eigth release update. Simulator and Binary Impovements to GPS derived attitude estimator - smoother performance at higher bank angles, better accuracy of bank angle over larger speed range. Changes to Autopilot: Ascent/descent profiles changed to allow application of target vertical speeds closer to target altitude. Added voice/sound support to autopilot. Added autopilot message/sound instructions to increase/decrease power when needed (start of ascent/descent and intercept of target altitude). Odyssey simulator: Added support to play sound files. Sound files in wav format can be used from Enigma Sound application. Please update your sound file in Enigma (link to new sound file above, instructions below). If you use the Enigma Sound application to manage your own sounds, please download latest version to include support for new sounds. Changes to USB protocol to facilitate improved master/slave operation. Please note: If you are using an Enigma slave - please disconnect the USB, the protocols are not compatible. This will be corrected with a future Enigma update. Several minor fixes: Vector mapping - changed drawing order to get writing ontop of polygons. Better clipping of track on map display. At low zoom ranges, color of ocean was red. Changed back to blue. 1.0.0.7 - 21/5/2010 Seventh release update. Simulator and Binary Please note: This update is mandatory if you plan on using the new NACO/FAA Navidata file. Fix: Waypoint search could get stuck if new NACO/FAA file is used (manual search in waypoint viewer or direct-to). Fix: Undefined airspace limits as are present in some European data could cause a system lockup during map zoom. Autopilot updates: Flight director can now be switched off (it however will be on if internal autopilot is engaged). Flight director color is magenta if autopilot is not engaged, white if autopilot has control (internal autopilot). Major work on autopilot system: Easy setup for both bank and pitch. Only one setting affecting sensitivity with a three step selection of bank or pitch "force". Bank servo magnitude setting scaled down to match settings of pitch servo magnitude. Expect a Bank servo magnitude setting of "10" if you where using a "30" previously. Split autopilot inner loop into seperate algorithms for MGL and Trio servos to allow best possible match to either servo. If using a Trio servo, expect Pitch servo magnitude settings in the region of "6" to "15" depending on pitch sensitivity of aircraft. Automatic setting of servo deadband for Trio servos. No more "running" of Trio servos when AP not engaged. Addition of autopilot remote control via IOX (download version 2.0 of IOX script editor to add functions): Remote engage of altitude hold, VSI hold and 180 degree turn modes as well as disengage. Single button "engage/disengage". 1.0.0.6 - 11/5/2010 Sixth release update. Simulator and Binary Added support for display of obstacles on moving map (vector map only). Fixed problem related to large number of waypoints present with new NACO/FAA Navidata file. Changed vector map terrain background presentation for higher zoom levels, reverting back to previous method for the two highest zoom levels. 1.0.0.5 - 6/5/2010 Fifth release update. Simulator and Binary Added support for obstacle database (part of Navidata file). Obstacles are shown on sythetic vision screen in true perspective size if aircraft is within 1000 ft of highest point of obstacle. Revised Flight Planner application program which now contains obstacle database will be made available in a few days. Currently NACO obstacle database (North America) is supported. Other databases may be added in future as they become available. Changed CD card writing routines for external SD cards to prevent issues caused by slow write times in particular with older generation SD cards. Added function in 3D setup menu to enable / disable Flight Director display. Changed: AP - Now possible to engage VSI or Pitch hold without valid GSI solution selected. AP - Added automatic setting for Trio servo deadband (will be set to value of "6" without user intervention). AP - Changes to inner loop for pitch angle control (Trio servo only): Higher update frequency with smaller steps, Rate feedback on PI entry. NAV - It is now possible to have simultaneous active GPS navigation as well as GVOR (with radials and GDME) - for both active and secondary VOR. if all these sources are active, selecting primary NAV source selects which one is shown on the HSI (and with that, active as source for the autopilot and flight director). In case of GVOR active, frequency display toggles between frequency of NAV source and identifier. Please note that GVOR setup has to be completed and it is also recommended to enable the HSI for GVOR source and GPS NAV to get the full benifit. Major rewrite of terrain map background rendering (vector map terrain background) to take advantage of the G2 hardware capabilities. Colors are now chosen based on terrain elevation 1000 ft steps with augmentation of 1000 ft transition lines. Added relief shading based on steepness of terrain. Fixed: Horizon setup - changing message type could only be done once per power cycle. 1.0.0.4 - 16/4/2010 Forth release Update. Simulator and Binary Introduction of textured terrain for synthetic vision. 1.0.0.3 - 8/4/2010 Third release Update. Simulator and Binary Second installment Vertical Power VP-X release. Faster user interface to view and control faulted breakers. Breakers now have individual alarm enables (in addition to the global setup in alarm routing and setup) - new ECB alarm setup in "System setup". Three new screen components: Flap, roll and pitch trim, each has easy to use setup menu in "System setup". Can be used with any IOX analog channel as well as VP-X (with added functionality). Flap and trim scripts for VP-X simplified as most setups now included in EFIS. (ECB Script editor). WIGWAG mode selection in "ENG" menu (VP-X, WIGWAG must be configured in ECB Script editor). New autopilot engagement menu to simplify AP engagement and to make it clearer how the AP will be engaged. Two basic engagament modes: Quick engage heading and altitude bugs (both set to current valuea) and Engage current NAV and vertical modes selection. Increased fuel pressure measurement resolution for low pressure range senders. Resolution is selected depending on probe measurement range setup. 4 new special text items: Engine HP calculations for each RDAC with display either as HP or as % relative to rated HP. New HP calculations setup under Engine monitoring setup. New Skip item conditions for Electronic circuit breaker system available/not available and HP calculations enabled or disabled. Fixed bug with leaning mode: Screen colors where not set correctly, was OK in simulator. Fixed bug with IOX indicators screen colors. Fixed bug - Altimeter bug was about 100 ft too high after a recent change to prevent drawing the bug outside of the tape area. Changed power supply monitoring and reset behaviour to avoid situation where certain power supply conditions (to the EFIS) could result in the GPS being reset but not the main processor (this would lead to a loss of GPS fix). If this happens now the main processor will be reset as well and the system will restart. GPS will perform a hot start with fix available within seconds. 1.0.0.2 - 26/3/2010 Second release Update. Simulator and Binary Autopilot - Contains flight tested version of new autopilot system. For pitch altitude and pitch-angle settings, recommend a 10 for Altitude control and 5 to 15 for the pitch angle control (I'm using a 10 in our aircraft). First phase of VP-X electronic circuit breaker integration. All circuit breakers functional, status and set/reset in ENG menu, new screen components to support circuit breakers plus text readouts for names and currents. New script editor for VP-X configuration (download from EFIS tools page). VP-X emulator in Odyssey simulator. To use, place completed script file in "Other" folder and enable VP-X on desired serial port. Due to increasing number of text items in designer, these are now grouped by function for ease of use. Slight updates to "built-in" screens. Track displays in upper panel now in degrees true. Small readout below heading to show heading from compass (magnetic). Large readout is magnetic GPS ground track (or compass heading if no GPS fix). 1.0.0.1 - 18/3/2010 First release Update. Simulator and Binary ARINC RX was not fully operational due to left over debug code. This has been removed and ARINC now works to specification. Several minor fixes and edits in system. 1.0.0.0 - 15/3/2010 First release Update. Simulator and Binary Fixed airspace limits display (these where showing ground to unlimited on the map, if enabled for display). Added new function to enable/disable menu transparent background (System operation setup). Added alarms for AOA (display, audio, etc). Activates on reaching "yellow" zone of AOA measurement. Added filter for GPS flight path display bank and pitch to provide smoother movements. Changed left menu to numeric selection 1-7 if any menu or Map viewer open. Changed remaining blue background menus to black background. User designed aircraft symbols for map and HSI are now working with the G2. Revisited writing data to external SD cards - some cards where still not reliable. Changed algorithm to bypass built in hardware write status monitoring and query cards direct. This seems more reliable with SD version 1.x cards. On the real hardware, raster map movement North/South was inverted at intervals. Added on-screen messages informing of missing raster map, vector map as well as World.bmp files (these messages display as part of the map). World.bmp now is proper moving map and will move as position changes. Horizon setup menu: Removed old AHRS "bump" and "slew" settings. Old style SP-3 units no longer supported unless upgraded to "SP-4" algorithms. Added functions to align bank and pitch to "zero" to remove slight installation issues. Note: this will be rejected if angle to be corrected is more than 10 degrees. Simulator: Added Script file export option: "Include autopilot setups". 0.1.1.2 - 05/3/2010 Update 12. Simulator and Binary Installation program was still installing data files into previous "Odyssey2SIM" folder and not "MGL\Odyssey2SIM" while the actual simulator had been correctly modified to use the new folder. Fixed. Much work has been done around the autopilot. Support for the new MGL servos has been included and there are new text items which are preliminary indicators (numeric) for actual measured forces acting on the servo. Additional settings are enabled (if the MGL servo is selected) to set the desired servo trip torque (Stepper motor based servos don't slip - they trip). 0.1.1.1 - 04/3/2010 Update 11. Simulator and Binary Writing to external SD card. Process could time out with many older type cards. Increased time out on write. New text item: GPS heading source. In case of no fix or speed<5mph the GPS heading sources switch to compass. This new component shows what source is being used (GPS or MAG). Place it next to or below GPS ground track (true or magnetic). Added new category to universal text component: System text items. First such item is a user entered aircraft ID string (for example registration number). You can place a Aircraft ID text string on the screen which is then filled in by the user (this function helps screen builders). Radio frequencies could not be set via the rotary controls - this is now fixed. Terrain look ahead and related alarms attended to and any known issues fixed. Further improvements to terrain drawing. Middle marker message background restored to original orange color. Added heading bug to HSI. Tighter integration of GPS goto/waypoint functionality in dual panels connected via USB. Added missing filter to VSI algorithm (can lead to occasional large excusions). Further work on GPS flight path algorithm. Autopilot - added constant pitch angle and constant VSI operating modes with selections of each via rotary knob. Further work on autopilot algorithms. Removed sky color gradient for display deep dimming. Fixed up occasional jerky movement of terrain background with vector moving map. Fixed diagonal, dotted line that could appear on vector maps (usualy on first use). Changed terrain warning setup in System Setup - TAWS colored terrain warning on vector maps as well as 3D terrain now has common ON/OFF setting. Synthetic vision now has "setup" disable in 3D view setup menu as well as "on the fly" disable via the DSP menu (left buttons). Modified 3D terrain view so horizontal width of a terrain tile is correctly represented according to latitude. Changed simulator data folder under "application data" from "Odyssey2Sim" to "MGL\Odyssey2SIM" - please move your projects if required. 0.1.1.0 - 25/2/2010 Update 10. Simulator and Binary Fixed missing level 2 menu introduced in 0.1.0.9 0.1.0.9 - 24/2/2010 Update 9. Simulator and Binary Added: New, experimental simulated AHRS using GPS based flight path, option to use this instead of actual AHRS for VFR applications. Enable GPS attitude in 3D setup (menu level 2). Internal autopilot now enabled. More cross outs for SP-4 based sensor elements as well as moving map if no GPS position. Fixed airspace drawing issue if same airspace split into two or more seperate, unconnected sections. Fixed "missing runways" - this could happen after nearest airports function was used. New options to draw "tick marks" and "aircraft symbol" onto HSI. Extended airspace engine to allow old format, non-tiled airspaces (still used in some cases). Selecting from built in defaults containing engine selections will now only change engine based setups (if confirmed). Minor edits to built in default screens. Added two more info screens to each page: Terrain look ahead with flight path and a few text based items. 0.1.0.8 - 18/2/2010 Update 8. Simulator and Binary This update concentrats mainly on the simulator but some new things in the binary as well. Simulator frame rate has increased and is now only a little slower than the actual instrument. This is now starting to show actual instrument performance (instrument still draws better image due to anti-ailiased drawing which I have not yet figured out on the simulator). The simulators ARINC autopilot is now functional. The "aircraft" is not modelled 100% of course but close enough. This autopilot uses the actual ARINC autopilot labels to control the "aircraft". The ARINC labels are slaved to the flight director which in turn is an actual part of the built-in autopilot. The built-in autopilot remains partly active at all times to create the flight director. You engage the ARINC autopilot in the autopilot simulator. Please note that the ARINC autopilot simulator simulates an external autopilot - it has nothing to do with the built in autopilot driving servos directly. However, it is required to setup the autopilot as this affects the way the external autopilot is commanded. I used the following settings: Flight director + External ARINC autopilot Under Bank control setup: Target rate of turn: 2.0 degrees/second Heading change magnitude: 15 Track intercept force: low Under Pitch control setup: Low ASI 65mph High ASI 280mph VSI ascent: 600ft/min VSI descent: 600ft/min Altitude Control magnitude: 30 Pitch Angle control magnitude: 15 You need airspeed for the flight director to correctly calculate turn radius as well as climb/descent angles so set a reasonable value (close to the speed you have set for GPS ground speed so things make sense). Further changes: Holds with fix have changed - an automatic goto is performed to the fix and both approach bearing and hold orientation is taken from the GPS-OBS setting. This allows you to setup typical holds with even less work. 0.1.0.7 - 17/2/2010 Update 7. Simulator and Binary Jumpy color rendering on 3D terrain fixed. Added sensor fusion to achieve smooth heading changes on 3D terrain regardless of GPS sample time. (3D terrain can now change heading at full frame rate resulting in perfectly smooth transitions between frames - this applies to the real instrument only, not the simulator). Changed Simulator to be "Vista friendly, new data location under applications data folder". Added integrated file manager to ease working with Simulator data files. Note: All data files you may have placed in the Programs folder are ignored now - please move them to the new data folder.
